The Fostex RM-1 is a rugged rackmount stereo monitor that's designed to deliver audio in any location where space is tight. Ideal for industrial environments, mobile control rooms, surveillance applications, theme park booths, and more, the RM-1 takes up just one rackspace and was built to withstand around the clock use. Dual stereo XLR inputs are on the rear of the RM-1 and you can choose between sources via controls on the front panel. In addition to the front-mounted speakers, a headphone jack is provided. Fostex designed the RM-1 with industrial use in mind, as the RM-1's rugged construction materials allow for around the clock operation. And, because it only takes up one rackspace, it's easy to put the RM-1 anywhere monitoring needs exist, such as in mobile control rooms or theme park booths.
Dual stereo inputs and A/B selector
The RM-1 gives you dual stereo XLR inputs to accommodate two analog sources. A front-panel A/B input selector lets you quickly toggle between the inputs.
Dual concentric volume control and headphone jack
On the front-panel of the Fostex RM-1 there are a headphone jack and a volume control. When you plug into the high-gain headphone jack, the onboard speakers are conveniently muted. You can easily control the left and right levels of whatever source you have selected - the back part of the volume control affects the right channel input volume while the front portion adjusts the left channel input volume.

With the Fostex RM-1, you have access to a Mode Selector button on the front panel, so you can adjust the RM-1's various output modes. Modes include Mute, Mono, Left Channel, Right Channel, and Signal.
